When creating an alias, many people choose their first name followed by a period, and then their last name. For example, if your name is John Smith and your assigned e-mail address is res85go@verizon.net, you can create john.smith@verizon.net as your e-mail alias. This way, you have a meaningful e-mail address that friends and family can easily remember. However, your e-mail alias and your e-mail address are two different things.
For example: E-mail address: res85go@verizon.net E-mail alias: john.smith@verizon.net
Any e-mail sent to res85go@verizon.net or john.smith@verizon.net is delivered to the res85go@verizon.net mailbox.
Note: If you use e-mail software like Outlook Express, you will want to update your e-mail settings to use your new e-mail alias. After you create an e-mail alias, be sure to update
