We go out of our way to make sure your FiOS Internet installation process is as easy and hassle-free as possible. See How We Make Installation Easy
Step 1
Make an appointment
When you order FiOS Internet, we’ll automatically assign you the next available installation date. Or you can choose a better time by checking our online calendar, once you’ve completed your order.
Before finalizing your order, please confirm that your computer meets these minimum requirements:
- Operating system is Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP (Service Pack 2), Windows 2000, or Mac OS 10.3 or higher
- Computer has a network adapter (preferably wireless)or USB port. Most recent computers have one or both connection ports
Step 2
The installation
On the date of your FiOS Internet installation, a FiOS technician will assess your location to determine what cables, if any, need to be installed, and where they can be run to minimize impacts on your property.
Please be advised that an adult (18 or older) must be present throughout the installation.
At your home, we’ll install a small box called an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) in your garage, basement or other inconspicuous place, or near your telephone box outside. Inside, we’ll setup a router and any necessary wiring and wall jacks. We’ll also setup and connect one computer free of charge and any additional computers for an additional charge.
Any existing phone service you have will then be migrated to the Verizon FiOS network. There’s no extra fee for this service and your monthly charges won’t increase.
Rest assured - you will be consulted every step of the way!
Step 3
The test drive
After your technician installs and tests your new FiOS Internet connection, s/he will show you how the equipment works and give you a Verizon FiOS Welcome Kit. This kit contains helpful information and will answer any questions you may have after the technician leaves.
