Installation

Scheduling

• Before finalizing your FiOS Internet order, please confirm that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for your preferred FiOS Internet plan.
• During ordering, the next available installation date will automatically be assigned. However, you can always check the calendar for availability and select a date and timeslot that works best with your schedule.
• Shortly before your scheduled installation date, a courteous and professional FiOS technician will come to your home to run a fiber connection to your premises.

Installing Our Fiber-Optic Network

• The technician will mount an Optical Network Terminal (ONT), a very small box, on the side of your home, most likely near your existing telephone box or wherever you prefer.
• Fiber cabling from an adjacent telephone pole will be run to the newly installed ONT.

In-Home Wiring

• On the date of your installation, a FiOS technician will discuss with you how many computers you would like connected and where they will be located prior to installing. Your primary computer will be installed free of charge if you signed up for a one-year agreement.*
• The ONT will be connected to the existing coaxial cabling in your home and the signal will be tested.

Setup

• The technician will install special data wiring to your computer, along with any necessary wall jacks.
• Your Verizon home networking router and software will be installed, and a connection to the Internet will be initiated.
• Any existing voice services you may have will then be migrated onto the Verizon FiOS network. There is no additional fee for this service, and your current monthly charges will not be impacted.

Completion

• The technician will provide you with a Verizon FiOS Welcome Kit containing helpful information and answer any questions you may have.
• All work areas will be cleaned and returned to their original state so you'll never even know we were there!
• You’ll receive a statement of work performed and/or any costs incurred for additional wiring or more than one computer installation, as well as contact information for help and support. We’re dedicated to making sure your FiOS Internet experience is simply amazing!

Things to Keep In Mind

• Set aside at least four hours for installation.
• An adult (18 years or older) must be present at the time of installation.
