Which Receiver is Right for You?

First, you'll need to determine whether your TV is standard definition or HD (see below). Then use the Equipment Advisor to find out which receiver is right for you.


Standard Definition (SD)

  • A traditional TV that's more square in shape and usually
    contains a picture tube
  • 4:3 aspect ratio
  • Supports 480i resolution

High Definition (HD)

  • Usually an LCD or plasma TV, which is a wider and
    more rectangular TV
  • 16:9 aspect ratio
  • Supports 720p, 1080i or 1080p resolution
