Step 1: Make an Appointment

• When you place your order, you’ll automatically be assigned the first available installation date.
• If a particular date and timeslot works best for you, however, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
• Shortly before your appointment, a professional FIOS technician will come to your home to connect a fiber connection to your premises.
• Please keep in mind that an adult (18 years or older) must be present during the installation.
• Plan to schedule at least four hours for installation.

Step 2: Installing FiOS

• Outside wiring: The technician will mount a very small box called an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) near your telephone box – or wherever you prefer. Fiber cabling from an adjacent telephone pole will be run to the newly installed ONT.
• Inside wiring: Your FiOS technician will help you determine the best possible location(s) for your TV installation and run tests to confirm that the highest-quality signal is being received. He (or she) will then connect the ONT to the existing coaxial cabling in your home.
• Connecting the receiver: The technician will run cabling from the coaxial outlet to your FiOS TV receiver and from the receiver to your TV – and also activate and test the receiver. He will also program the remote and test the Interactive Media Guide, widgets, DVR (if applicable) and Video On Demand to confirm everything is working properly.

Step 3: Demonstration and Completion

• After the installation, your technician will demo all of your new services, explain how they work, and answer all of your questions.
• All work areas will be cleaned and returned to their original state, so you'll never even know we were there.
• You'll receive a statement of work performed and/or any costs incurred for additional wiring or TV connections beyond three, as well as contact info for future help and support.
