How does Fraud Protection work?
printer friendly version | email this page | bookmark this page
Fraud Protection helps protect you from online fraud by alerting you when you attempt to access a potentially fraudulent website, such as phishing sites. Phishing sites pretend to represent legitimate companies and attempt to solicit personal and financial information.

Once enabled, the Fraud Protection service displays a warning whenever you are accessing a known phishing website. You can then navigate away from the page, or you can accept the warning and proceed to the site.

Note: The Fraud Protection service will not scan for or block incoming phishing emails or fraudulent instant messages, nor will it block any of your responses. Fraudulent emails can be reported by forwarding the phishing email to the address listed under Fraud Reporting on the Verizon Internet Security Suite Fraud Protection page.

To enable Fraud Protection:
  1. Open Verizon Internet Security Suite.
  2. Choose Fraud Protection.
  3. Select Enable Fraud Protection.
