How often does Anti-Virus update its virus definitions database?

Anti-Virus, included with Verizon Internet Security Software, automatically updates its virus definitions database every three hours. However, you can also set Anti-Virus to update its definitions every day or once a week. You can also manually update the virus definitions.

To set a schedule for updating virus definitions
  1. From the left menu bar, select Anti-Virus.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Automatic, Daily, Weekly, or Manual.
  4. Select OK.
To manually update your virus definitions
  1. From the left menu, select Anti-Virus.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Update.
