About Anti-Spyware
Spyware is software that monitors your activity on the Internet and then transmits this information to a third party without your knowledge or consent.
Spyware can gather information about your email addresses, banking information, passwords, credit cards, and the Web sites you have visited. It can even record every keystroke you type and then invisibly transmit this information to a third party.
Verizon Internet Security Suite Anti-Spyware operates on two levels. It automatically scans your computer's memory, cookie files, and registry keys for spyware. It also lets you manually scan your hard drives, folders, and files for spyware. If it finds tracking cookies, it deletes them; if it finds spyware, it records the spyware information in a log. (You must manually delete spyware using the Current List tool.)
Use the Preferences tool to tell Anti-Spyware to delete tracking cookies, set the frequency of displaying discovered spyware, and set how often you want Verizon Internet Security Suite to check for updates to Anti-Spyware. Use the Scheduled Scan tool to manually scan your computer and files for spyware.
Use the View Log tool to see the spyware that you deleted from your computer.
Before using any of the Anti-Spyware tools, be sure to enable Anti-Spyware by checking the Enable real-time spyware protection check box on the Anti-Spyware screen.
