DialUp Solution Center

Why is my first bill higher than I expected? Generally, your Verizon Online charges represent one billing cycle of service.

The amount of your first dial-up bill represents:
  • The prorated amount from the day your account is activated.
  • Any setup fees and/or equipment charges that may apply.
For example, if you request service on January 15th, and you're billed on January 28th, your first bill will reflect charges from January 15th through January 28th.

Applicable usage charges may be present for any dial-up access that exceeds your usage allowance.

The exception to this is if your monthly Internet service is billed in advance. For example, if you request service on January 15th, and you are billed on January 28th, your first bill will reflect charges from January 15th through January 28th, in addition to charges billed from January 29th through February 28th.

Subsequent bills should reflect charges for one billing cycle.
