Checking your Verizon Online account settings with Outlook Express 5 - 6 on Windows®
  1. Start Outlook Express.
Check Outlook Express SettingsWatch the movie clip.
  1. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.


  2. Select the Mail tab, then click once on your Verizon Online mail account.


  3. Click Properties.


  4. In the General tab, verify your name and email address.


  5. Select the Servers tab.


  6. Verify the following settings:
    • In the Incoming mail (POP3) field, type incoming.verizon.net.
    • In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field, type outgoing.verizon.net.
    • In the Account name field, type your Verizon Online user name.
    • In the Password field, type your Verizon Online password.
    • Verify that Log on using Secure Password Authentication is not selected.
    • Verify that My server requires authentication is selected.

  7. Select Settings.


  8. Verify Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected, then select OK.


  9. Select the Advanced tab.


  10. Verify that the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server port number is set to 25.


  11. Verify that the Incoming Mail (POP3) server port number is set to 110.


  12. Verify the option Leave a copy of messages on server is not selected.


  13. Click OK.


  14. Click Close to close the Internet Accounts window.
