I can't connect to the Internet If you can't connect to the Internet, try the following:
  1. Check your connections. Ensure that the telephone line linking your modem to the telephone jack is securely plugged in and is in good condition. Note: Analog (dial-up) modems are normally installed inside computers.


  2. Release and renew your connection to the Internet. Releasing and renewing your Internet connection will often resolve the problem. Learn how to release and renew your connection to the Internet.


  3. Use ping to test your network connection. Pinging is a troubleshooting technique that is used to test for network connectivity. Ping tests verify that your computer is communicating with remote servers or computers. Learn how to run a ping test.
