Someone might be using my user name and password If you believe that someone might be using your Verizon user name and password (either because of unauthorized Internet access, activity on your email account, changes to your account settings or for some other reason), you should immediately change your password and ensure that your new account-access information is completely secure.

Change your password

Use the Verizon Online Password Reset tool to reset your password. Your password is case-sensitive, must be between 6 and 20 characters in length, and can include any combination of letters and numbers. It cannot include such characters as /, #, *, or blank spaces.

Please allow up to one hour for your password change to take effect.

Maintain the security of your new account-access information

  • If you receive an email asking you to send personal information, DO NOT reply to the message. Verizon Online does not use email to collect billing or personal information from its customers. The email is fraudulent; delete it from your Inbox.

  • Ensure that your computer does not contain any keystroke loggers, screen capturers, or other malicious software that would enable someone to once again access to your private information.

  • If you're using wireless technology to surf the Web, be sure the sites you're visiting are SSL-encrypted.
