Importing your Address Book into Outlook 2003
  1. Open Outlook.

  2. From the File menu, select Import and Export.

  3. Select Import Internet Mail and Addresses and click Next.

  4. Select the application that contains the address book you want to import into Outlook.

Note: If the application you want to import the addresses from is not listed in the Outlook Import Tool, export the address book from the source application into a CSV (comma separated values) file. This file type can then be imported into Outlook via its Import and Export Wizard.

  5. De-select the Import Mail and Import Rules check boxes and click Next.

  6. Select a destination for the address you are importing:

    • Outlook Contacts Folder - choose this option if you want to import your address book contents into the Outlook Contacts Folder.

    • Personal Address Book - choose this option if you want to import your address book contents into the Outlook Personal Address Book.

  7. Select an import option:

    • Replace duplicates with items imported - choose this option if you want existing records to be overwritten with the new data that is being imported.

    • Allow duplicates to be created - choose this option if you want existing records to not be overwritten. If there are duplicates, they will be added to the import destination you selected.

    • Do not import duplicate items - choose this option to retain existing records. If there are duplicates, they will not be copied to the import destination you selected.

  8. Click Finish.

The Outlook Import Tool searches the selected application's address book and imports its contents into Outlook.

  9. On the Import Summary window, click OK.
