What happens when my mailbox exceeds my storage space limit? If messages sent to you are bouncing back to the sender with a message stating "the user(s) account is temporarily over quota," you may have run out of email storage space. To check your email storage space:
  1. Log in to Email & More.
  2. Find the Email Storage meter in the left column of Email & More. If you are out of email storage, you can delete messages using Email & More. You may want to look for email messages with large attachments to quickly reduce your storage requirements.
How do I keep from running out of email storage space again?

Make sure that the email in your mailbox doesn't exceed your storage capacity by collecting email frequently.

I check my email often, but I still run out of storage space

If you read your email using Outlook Express, follow the steps below to make sure your software does NOT leave a copy of each message on the server indefinitely.

  1. Start Outlook Express.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
  3. Select your Verizon Online email account, and then click Properties.
  4. Select the Advanced tab. Make sure that Leave a copy of messages on server is not checked.
Note: This process is similar for Outlook 98, 2000, and 2002.
