Opting out of DNS Assistance by changing your DNS settings in Windows 2000
  1. Right-click My Network Places on your desktop and select Properties. [Show Me]


  2. Right-click Local Area Connection and select Properties. [Show Me]


  3. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties. [Show Me]


  4. Click Advanced.
  5. [Show Me]

  6. Click the DNS tab.
  7. [Show Me]

  8. Remove your current DNS settings by selecting each setting and clicking Remove.
