Re-entering your security settings after resetting your Actiontec MI424WR router If you've changed your SSID and/or security encryption key from the default values, you must re-configure your Actiontec router to match the settings assigned to the devices on your wireless home network.

To reset your router security settings:

  1. Open your Web browser and enter http://192.168.1.1 in the Address field.


    2. Figure depicting Address field in Internet Explorer


  2. Enter a user name in the New User Name field.


  3. Enter a new password in the New Password field.


  4. Re-enter your new password in the Retype New Password field to confirm the spelling.


  5. Select your time zone from the Time Zone field and click OK.
