Setting up Xbox 360™ with a Wireless Connection
  1. To open the management console, type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar of your web browser.

  2. Enter the router username and password.

    If the username and password has never been changed, then the default login is:

     Username:  admin
     Password:        password or password1    

  3. Select Wireless Settings from the router console. Write down the SSID and network encryption key (WEP, WPA, or WPA2 key) They will be needed later.

    Note: Before a computer can connect to the router through a wireless signal, it must be configured with the appropriate SSID and network encryption key.

  4. From the Xbox 360 Dashboard, select the System tab and choose Network Settings. Press A to continue.

  5. From the Network Settings screen, select Restore to Factory Defaults to reset your Xbox 360. Press A to continue.

    You are prompted to Apply Settings.

  6. Highlight Test Media and press A to continue.

    If the Xbox 360 was previously configured to connect with an Access Point, a warning screen is displayed.

  7. Press A to complete the Restore to Factory Default process.

    The Network Settings screen appears.

  8. The Test Media Connection is displayed and the Wireless Network status appears as "Not Connected" - Your Xbox 360 now needs to be reconfigured to add the router SSID and WEP key. Press B to return to the Network Settings screen.

  9. Select Edit Settings and press A to continue.

  10. Highlight and select Wireless Mode and press A to continue.

  11. From the Xbox 360 display of wireless networks found, select the router SSID that you wrote down in step 3. Press A to continue.

  12. From the Xbox 360 display, enter the router network encryption key that you wrote down in step 3. When finished, select Done and press A to continue.

  13. When prompted, select Test Media and press A to continue.

  14. From the Network Settings menu, select Test Xbox Live Connection. Press A to continue.

    The Test Xbox Live Connection results should show as connected (i.e., the IP address was successfully received from the router).

    If the Connection Failed screen appears, you'll need to turn off your Xbox 360, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. It should then connect automatically to your wireless router.
