Adding a computer to an established FiOS wireless network
If you purchase a new computer or bring a laptop home from work, you will likely want to add it to your existing wireless home network. You may also want to connect your laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot or to a wireless network in a motel when traveling.

Note: Your network must have at least one computer connected to it and you must be able to access the Internet before you can connect additional computers.

The instructions for adding a computer to an existing wireless network depend on whether you have a wireless network adapter installed in the computer.

  • If your computer has a wireless adapter built in or you have previously installed a wireless network adapter, you only need to set up the connection to the wireless network. The directions are much simpler and generally take less than five minutes to complete. If you're unsure about whether you have a wireless network adapter, you can use Windows Device Manager to determine whether you have one installed.

  • If you don't have a wireless network adapter installed, select your router using the grapics below to display the instructions for installing and configuring the wireless network adapter.
