Opting out of DNS Assistance by changing your DNS settings in Windows Vista
  1. Click the Windows Start button in the left Taskbar.


  2. Click Control Panel. [Show Me]


  3. Click Network and Internet. [Show Me]


  4. Click Network and Sharing Center. [Show Me]


  5. Click View Status beside your Local Area Connection. [Show Me]


  6. Click Properties. [Show Me]


  7. Click Continue when the User Account Control window displays.


  8. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.
