How do I obtain and install a CableCard?As a FiOS TV customer, you can lease a CableCard directly from Verizon for a low monthly fee. CableCards plug into the slot labeled "CableCard" or "POD" (Point of Deployment), usually located at the back of your TV or DVR. Visit us online to add a CableCard to your existing FiOS TV service.
What should I do if I want to cancel my CableCard service?Contact us at 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) to cancel your service and return the card to Verizon.Can I remove my CableCard from the DCR (Digital Cable Ready) TV or DVR where it is currently installed and plug it into another DCR device?No. After your CableCard is activated, the card is "paired" with the DCR (Digital Cable Ready) device (TV or DVR) in which it was originally installed. You can install your CableCard with another device by using your desktop In-Home Agent instructions or following the online activation steps.What should I do if I move?You must return your CableCard to Verizon if you move outside your area of service. Contact 1-800-VERIZON (1-800-837-4966) if you are moving.Do I have to remove my CableCard from my DCR TV or DVR if I need to temporarily return it for repair?Yes. Remove the CableCard from your DCR TV or DVR and keep it in a safe place. You are responsible for the replacement cost if the card is lost. Once you receive your new CableCard follow the self-installation instructions along with the instructions for returning the defective CableCard.
My DCR device was defective so it was replaced. Can I use my CableCard in the new unit?Yes. You can install your CableCard with the new device by using your desktop In-Home Agent instructions or following the online activation steps.
