Why do I get a search results page when I mistype a Web address or enter a search term in my browser address bar? When you mistype a Web address, the Error Assist feature of the Verizon Toolbar provides a list of addresses that are similar to what you entered. It tries to quickly get you to the page you wanted by listing alternatives to the location you entered. For example, if you entered "www.verizion.com," the Error Assist feature might provide www.verizon.com as a possible choice.

The Error Assist feature provides the same functionality if you enter a search term in the browser address bar that isn't recognized. It provides a list of alternative search addresses that are similar to what you entered so you can click on alternative link rather than enter another search term.
