Checking your Verizon account settings with Netscape Communicator 4.5 - 4.7 on Windows
  1. Start Netscape Messenger.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.
  3. Double-click the Mail & Newsgroups category in the left pane, then select Identity.
  4. Verify that your name appears in the Your name field.
  5. Verify that your Verizon Online email address (or emailalias) appears in the Email address field.
  6. From the Mail & Newsgroups category in the left pane, select Mail Servers.
  7. In the Incoming Mail Servers area, select your Verizon Online email account, then click Edit.
  8. Verify that incoming.verizon.net appears in the Server name field, and that the Server type box is set to POP3 server.
  9. Verify that your Verizon Online user name appears in the User name field, then select the POP tab.
  10. Verify that the Leave messages on server box is not selected, then click OK.
  11. Verify that outgoing.verizon.net appears in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, and that your user name appears in the User name field.
  12. Click OK to save your email settings.
