CertifiedEmail, powered by Goodmail, provides a safe and reliable means for consumers to easily identify authentic messages from legitimate commercial, nonprofit and government e-mail senders with whom you have an existing business relationship or from whom you have specifically agreed to receive email. This is an added layer of protection for Verizon Online subscribers to help fight against phishing scams and identity theft and help prevent spam from reaching your in box.
Recognize a CertifiedEmail
As a component of your Verizon.net email service the CertifiedEmail program helps members identify legitimate e-mail and to be confident that such messages are not phishing scams trying to steal personal information. However, it is important to remember that just because an email does not have the CertifiedEmail blue ribbon envelope icon does not mean that it is not a legitimate email message; you will continue to receive many legitimate email messages that are not identified as CertifiedEmail.
Participate in the CertifiedEmail program
CertifiedEmail is administered by Verizon Online in partnership with Goodmail Systems. It is only available to legitimate commercial, non-profit and government e-mail senders that meet strict standards for best e-mail practices and low complaint rates. Each CertifiedEmail is marked in the Inbox with a unique blue ribbon envelope icon, enabling consumers to visually distinguish messages sent from senders with whom they have a pre-existing relationship and to know that links included in Certified Emails can be trusted.
Verizon Onilne will continue to deliver e-mail from all senders
Verizon Online will continue to deliver e-mail from all senders, whether they participate in the CertifiedEmail program or not. However, all senders must abide by Verizon Online’s anti-spam rules and policies
