What is mailbox storage and how do I check it? Mailbox storage refers to the amount of space Verizon allows for your emails on our mail server. Verizon stores your email on an email server until you check your messages.

If you check your email messages using Email & More, they remain on the Verizon server until you decide to delete them.
If you download your email messages to your computer using an application like Outlook Express, they are removed from the Verizon server and can be stored on your computer as long as you need them.
If you surpass your allowed mailbox storage, email messages are returned to the sender with a message saying you have exceeded your storage quota.
