About Family Protection -- Parental Controls (Windows)

The Family Protection capabilities of the Verizon Internet Security Suite (VISS) protects children of all ages from exposure to inappropriate content, social networking risks, strangers, and other threats.

  • Website Blocking:  Blocks up to 35 categories of objectionable websites and filters inappropriate content
  • Program Blocking: Blocks access to applications that parents feel are inappropriate and allows you to prohibit usage if necessary
  • Email Blocking: Approve your children’s email contacts so you know if a stranger is trying to communicate with them
  • Instant Messaging: Monitors and records instant message conversations to inform you of improper dialogue or conversations with strangers
  • Social Networking: Records posting of personal or confidential information to help prevent risky interactions
  • Time Limits: Allows you to manage the amount of time your children use the Internet
  • Usage Reporting: Provides you a complete view of all Internet and IM activity and can be used as a tool to teach appropriate online behavior
  • Filter YouTube Videos: By using keyword filtering technology, objectionable content will be prohibited, yet allow acceptable videos
  • Instant Alerts: Receive email and/or text alerts when access to objectionable material is attempted

Note:  If you are currently running VISS Parental Controls, you will need to re-establish settings when you move to Family Protection.
