Keeping data secure on your wireless home network

Concerns over your wireless home network security shouldn't end when your network is working and you have initially configured your security settings.

The type of data on your network and your level of concern for your network's security will determine the type of network encryption you want to use. Verizon recommends using the strongest encryption compatible with the devices connected to your network. In most cases, that is WPA2 encryption.

Regardless of your situation, you may want to start by changing your router password and upgrading to WPA2 encryption.
