Steps to install a Verizon One wireless home network

Before you begin setting up your wireless home network, be sure that you have completed each item on the checklist below.

    Figure depicting a checkbox Confirm you have required hardware and accessories:

    • Verizon One.


    • Westell Wireless USB adapter for each desktop computer you are connecting to your home network.
      • Note: The Westell wireless USB adapters are not compatible with WPA encryption. If you want to use WPA encryption with a wireless USB adapter, you must upgrade to the ZyXEL G-220 wireless adapter.

    • Westell Wireless USB adapter or Wireless Notebook adapter for each notebook computer you are connecting to your network.
      • Note: The Westell wireless USB adapters are not compatible with WPA encryption. If you want to use WPA encryption with a wireless USB adapter, you must upgrade to the ZyXEL G-220 wireless adapter.
      • Many newer computers are sold with wireless adapters already installed. You can use Device Manager to confirm whether your other computer(s) already have wireless adapters installed.

    • Ethernet cable.
