To improve the security of your home network, you should change your home network's service set identifier (SSID) and WEP encryption key regularly.

1. Open a Web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape.



2. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the Address field of the browser. [Show Me]



3. Enter your current user name and password. If you didn't change the user name and password during installation, enter admin in the User Name field and leave the Password field blank.
• Note: If you can't remember your user name or password, you will need to reset your Actiontec gateway to the default settings and reconfigure your home network.

4. Click OK.



5. Depending on when you purchased your Actiontec gateway, there are two versions of the configuration utility. Select the graphic below that shows the version of the utility displayed by your gateway.
