Enabling folder sharing in Windows Vista
  1. Click Start in the lower left Taskbar and then click Network. [Show Me]


  2. Click Network and Sharing Center. [Show Me]


  3. Confirm that you network type is set to Private Network so your computer can access other network computers. [Show Me]
    • If it is set to "Public" click Customize and change the type to Private. [Show Me]

  4. Sharing permissions are controlled by the entries in the Sharing and Discovery area. Confirm that Network Discovery is "On." If it's set to "Off," click the arrow Figure depicting sharing arrow to the right of the Network Discovery line and change the setting to On.
