Adding a computer to a VersaLink 7500 wireless network in Windows XP when no adapter is installed Because your computer doesn't have a wireless network adapter installed, the first step is to install the adapter. The wireless adapter is used to receive and transmit the radio waves used to send and receive data over your VersaLink 7500 wireless home network.

You can download and use Verizon In-Home Agent to automatically configure your computer for wireless access. It can also help you transfer those settings to any computer in your home.

If you prefer not to use In-Home Agent, manually adding your computer to the wireless network requires 3 steps in Windows XP.

  1. Configure Windows. Ensure you have the required networking components installed by configuring Windows for home networking.

  2. Install network adapters. Install a notebook or USB wireless network adapter for each computer you are connecting to your home network.

  3. Test connections. Confirm that the computers you added can connect to the Internet.
