Steps to create a Verizon One wired home network

The Verizon One device allows you to create a wired home network, a wireless home network, or a combination wired/wireless home network. A wireless network provides the most flexibility, but a wired network has faster data transfer speeds and is more secure.

A combination wired/wireless network can be created where one or more computers are in close proximity to the Verizon One device so an Ethernet cable can be used to connect them. Computers in other rooms are connected to the network using wireless adapters.

If you are creating a wireless or combination wired/wireless network, use the directions for creating a wireless home network.

To create a Verizon One wired home network:

  1. Verify your Internet connection

  2. Installation Preparations

  3. Update Security

  4. Add Computers to the Network

  5. Test Internet Connections
