Re-installing Verizon Online with a Westell 6100 modem
  1. Connect a filter into the phone jack where your modem was previously connected.


  2. Plug the small, round end of the power supply into the 10.5 VAC power jack in the back of the modem. [Show Me]


  3. Plug the power supply into an electrical outlet.


  4. Connect one end of the phone cord to the DSL jack in the back of the modem. [Show Me]


  5. Connect the other end of the phone cord directly into a phone jack or the 2-for-1 adapter. If there was a filter connected to the phone jack, be sure to remove it before connecting the phone cord.

You may have connected your modem to your computer using either an Ethernet cable or a USB cable. Follow steps 6 & 7 below for the type of connection you used.

Connect using Ethernet
  1. Plug the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet jack in the back of the modem. [Show Me]


  2. Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the Network Interface Card (NIC) in your computer. [Show Me]


Connect using USB cable
  1. With the symbol side of the USB cable end facing up, plug the rounded end of the USB cable into the USB jack in the back of the modem. (Only one end of the cable will fit into the jack.) [Show Me]


  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer. [Show Me]


Completing the installation
  1. Flip the power switch (on the back of the modem) to the "on" position.


  2. Wait for the Power, DSL, Ethernet, and Internet lights to turn steady green. This may take a few minutes. [Show Me]
