Regional Toll Call Regional toll calls are calls that reach beyond your local calling area, but remain within the Verizon regional toll area.

Your local calling area and extended calling area are determined by your service plan and by regional boundaries called LATA (Local Access Transport Area) that are drawn by the federal government. Because of their proximity to the local calling area, regional toll calls are not regarded as long distance calls. However, since regional toll calls connect in areas beyond the local calling area, they are treated as a unique type of call.
Regional toll calling areas vary from region to region Please consult the Consumer Guide section of your local phone directory for information about regional toll calling areas.
