National Do Not Call List Register your phone The National Do Not Call list maintains a registry of telephone numbers that cannot receive unsolicited calls. You can register your home phone or your mobile phone for free at www.donotcall.gov.

Your registration will not expire

When you register your phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry, it will remain on it permanently because of the Do-Not-Call Improvement Act of 2007, which became law in February 2008.

For more information about the National Do Not Call list or to add your telephone numbers to the list, refer to www.donotcall.gov.

Verizon complies with the National Do Not Call list

Starting October 1, 2003, companies are required by law to check the National Do Not Call registry before conducting any telemarketing activities. By registering your number to the National Do Not Call list, you should not receive unsolicited calls from telemarketers unless they fall under one of the following categories: political organizations, charities, telephone surveyors, companies with which you have an existing business relationship, companies with which you have had a business relationship in the last 18 months, or companies with which you do not have an existing business relationship but you have contacted in the last 3 months. Once you sign up, telemarketers have up to 31 days to take your number off of their calling list.
