How to Use Call Waiting ID Call Waiting ID notifies you when someone is calling you while you are on another call. Picking up the second call

1. You will hear a Call Waiting ID tone during a call.
   The person calling you will hear a normal ring until you answer.



2. You may see, on your display unit, the name and number of the person calling.



3. Inform your first caller that you have another call.



4. Press and then release your phone's receiver, Flash or Recall button to put the first caller on hold.
   You are automatically connected to the second caller.

The name and number of your caller may not be displayed for every incoming call. In some cases, you will see a message on your display unit instead. The exact wording of the message may vary depending upon your display unit.

• “Out of Area” or “Unavailable” messages may appear for calls made outside specially equipped areas, calls made through an operator, and for certain telephone numbers for which Verizon does not purchase Caller ID information.



• “Private” or “Anonymous” messages may appear for calls made by people who have blocked the display of their telephone information.

If you hang up when you hear the Call Waiting ID tone, your phone will ring. You can ignore the second call if you do not want to be interrupted. One reminder tone will signal you ten seconds later.

If the first caller hangs up, you will be connected to the second caller automatically within two seconds.
