How to Use Per Line Blocking You do not have to activate Per Line Blocking. It is automatically activated when you order it. Deactivating Per Line Blocking for one call You can deactivate Per Line Blocking to allow your number to be displayed on a call-by-call basis.
  1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.


  2. Press *82 to deactivate Per Line Blocking
    Dial 1182 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.


  3. Listen for a confirmation tone followed by a dial tone.


  4. Dial the number you want to call.


Your number will appear on the Caller ID display unit of the number you called for that call only.

Once the call is completed, Per Line Blocking is automatically turned on again. If you want to make a second call with Per Line Blocking temporarily deactivated, you must perform the above steps again.
Deactivating Per Line Blocking permanently Contact Verizon to permanently deactivate Per Line Blocking. Call Blocking and Anonymous Call Rejection To call people who have Anonymous Call Rejection, you must deactivate your Per Line Blocking prior to dialing. Note that if your number is non-listed or non-published, it will be displayed unless you block it.

Once the call is completed, your Per Line Blocking automatically turns back on.

Note Anonymous Call Rejection is not available in Connecticut.
Not all calls can be blocked Calls to 911, toll-free (800 or 877) and 900 services cannot be blocked. Calls to some wireless customers may not be blocked.

All calling features are subject to availability and compatibility restrictions.
