Registering for Verizon Wi-Fi Although Verizon Wi-Fi is a free service for eligible FiOS Internet customers, the primary account holder must register in order to activate the Verizon Wi-Fi service.
A Verizon Wi-Fi user name and password are created during registration. They are used exclusively for logging in to the Verizon Wi-Fi service. The Verizon Wi-Fi user name and password must be defined by the primary account owner, but it may be given to the sub-account users so they can also take advantage of the Verizon Wi-Fi service.
During registration, you will download the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect software that will enable you to connect to the Internet at Verizon Wi-Fi hotspots.
- The Verizon Wi-Fi Connect software cannot be downloaded and installed using a VPN connection. Please don't start the registration process if you're currently using a VPN connection.
- Internet Explorer 6.x - 8.x and Firefox 2.x and above are supported for Verizon Wi-Fi. If you're using 64-bit Windows Vista, you must use the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7 or 32-bit Internet Explorer 8.
- You may be required to have administrator rights in order to download and install the Verizon Wi-Fi Connect software.
