The Smart Thermostat allows you to manage your home's heating and air-conditioning systems from your computer, compatible smartphone or FiOS TV. Set up custom "modes" that automatically adjust your home's temperature or turn off the HVAC completely.

Before you install the Smart Thermostat:

• Professional installation is recommended for the Smart Thermostat.

  
  

• The Smart Thermostat is not compatible with dual fuel systems (gas furnace and heat pump combined) without adding a special kit.

  
  

•  The Smart Thermostat requires a 24 Volt AC (24 VAC) Common Wire for power supply. Before you install, have a professional installer determine if your home has the required 24 VAC Common Wire.

  
  

• Turn-off any baby monitors, as the monitor interrupts the Smart Thermostat's radio frequencies and prevents successful pairing with the Gateway Device or Remote Control. If the baby monitor has a channel frequency selector, try setting it to a different frequency other than RF 908.42 MHz - which is used by the z-wave devices in your Home Control service.
  

Installation and Activation

1. Install the Smart Thermostat in your home  

   
   

2. From the Setup Wizard, activate the Smart Thermostat During set up, you'll "pair" the Smart Thermostat with the Gateway Device or Remote Control. After activation, the Smart Thermostat  appears as "active" on the Home Monitoring and Control Web site on My Verizon and you can access it remotely from your computer, smartphone or FiOS TV.

Smart Thermostat ActivationTips:

• Have a professional installer verify that your Smart Thermostat is installed properly with the 24VAC power wire in the HVAC system.

  
  

• When you add the Smart Thermostat to your Home Control Network, the Remote Control or Gateway Device should be within 5 feet of this Smart Thermostat.

  
  
  

• The pairing process between the Remote Control or Gateway Device must be completed within 30 seconds. If you took longer than 30 seconds, repeat the pairing steps outlined in the Setup Wizard. Pairing is complete when the blue light stays on solid for 2 seconds.
