When you are at home, the Remote Control enables you to switch among your pre-set modes (such as going from “At Home” to “Sleep” mode) without accessing your computer, smartphone or FiOS TV. The Remote Control is also helpful during your initial device set up, allowing you to pair other Home Monitoring and Control devices, when it is more convenient than using the Gateway Device.

Important: The Remote Control does not directly “power on” lights or appliances like a TV remote.

I cannot set up my Remote Control

You must "pair" your Remote Control to your Gateway Device first using the steps outlined in the Setup Wizard.

• Press any button on the Remote Control to trigger activity on the LEDs. If there is no activity on the LEDs, recharge the battery. To charge the Remote Control’s battery, plug the USB charge cable into the mini-USB port of the Remote Control.Plug the other end of the USB charge cable into the USB port of a computer.
  
  
• When adding the Remote Control to your Home Control Network, the Remote Control should be within 5 feet of the Gateway Device.
  
  
• The pairing process should be completed within 30 seconds. If you didn't complete the pairing process in 30 seconds, repeat the steps outlined in the Setup Wizard.

1. Press the “-” button on the Remote Control. The red LED blinks slowly to indicate the Remote Control is ready to remove devices.
   
   

2. Press the Z-Wave button on the device you want to "unpair". The blue LED light stays solid for 2 seconds to indicate the device is unpaired; the red LED stays solid for 2 seconds if the device was not unpaired.
