Enhanced Busy Redial Activating Enhanced Busy Redial In specially equipped areas, Busy Redial customers may have Enhanced Busy Redial. You can use Enhanced Busy Redial to complete busy calls.

Whenever you dial a number that is busy, you will hear a voice prompt asking if you want Verizon to redial the number for you.
  1. In response to the voice prompt, press 3.
    Enhanced Busy Redial will automatically redial the busy number for up to 30 minutes.
    The call is disconnected if you do not respond to the prompt, or if you press something other than 3.


  2. When the call is available you will hear a special ring.


  3. Pick up the receiver and Enhanced Busy Redial connects you automatically.
Enhanced Busy Redial cannot be activated for calls made to numbers outside of your regional calling area or to 411, 611, 911, 900, or toll-free numbers.
Canceling Enhanced Busy Redial If you decide that you do not want to wait for your call to become available, you can cancel Enhanced Busy Redial within 30 minutes of activation, prior to receiving the distinctive ring.
  1. Lift the receiver and listen for the dial tone.


  2. Press * 8 6 to cancel Enhanced Busy Redial.
    Dial 1186 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.
