Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Network Connections

In the Network Connections window, right-click on your Wireless Connection icon under LAN or High-Speed Internet.

To connect to the wireless network, select View Available Wireless Networks.
Note: Select Properties to view the wireless connection properties or Status to view the current connection status details.

Select your Wireless Network and click the Connect button.

Enter your Network Key. Once the Network/WEP/WPA Key has been entered twice, click the Connect button.

Once a connection to the wireless network is established, the screen will refresh and display Connected in the top right-hand corner of the wireless network listing.

The Network window opens.
If the computer does not have a Wireless Connection a warning message will pop up. Right-click the Message and click Connect to a Network.

Connect to a network screen will appear.
Double-click the Wireless device that the customer is attempting to connect to.
Enter your Wireless Network/SSID and click Connect.

The Computer will attempt to connect to the desired network.

This walk through will show you how to connect to a Wireless Network in Windows 7 using the Start Menu.

Click on the Windows Orb in the taskbar or press the Windows Key on your keyboard.

Now click on Network.

The Network window is displayed.
Click Network and Sharing Center in the top navigation menu.
Additional Information :
If you are not connected to a network either wired or wirelessly, you will not see any other connected computers in this display.
This is good indicator that you are not connected to a network.

The Network and Sharing Center is displayed.
Click on the Connect to a network option in the list of options below the network image.
Additional Information :
Note that the network image shows a red X between the computer and the Internet icon. This inidicates no connection to the Internet.

Select Wireless Network/SSID by single left clicking on it.

Additional Information :
The green signal bars indicate the signal strengthof the network they are displayed next to.
A yellow sheild with an exclamation point in it next to the green signal bars, represents an unsecured network. It is best to always secure the wireless network.

If this is the first time you have connected to this wireless network, the Connect Automatically checkbox will be displayed. If you intend to connect to this wireless network regularly, it is best to place a check in this box.

Enter the WEP or WPA/WPA2 key associated with the network.

Windows 7 will now attempt to connect to the Wireless Network.
This can take a few seconds depending on signal strength so please be patient.

You should now be successfully connected to the Wireless Network.
Notice how the network image now shows a good connection to the Internet.
You will also see the network under View your active networks.
