Dr. Huu Vo, President of the Pomona Valley Vietnamese Community, accepts a Verizon Foundation check in the amount of $20,000.00 for its community educational outreach.

The Vietnamese Community of Pomona Valley is dedicated to enriching the lives of immigrants from Vietnam to this area, promoting the understanding of different cultures, building the bridge between ethnic groups and helping the growth of community.

Dr.Vo, president of Vietnamese Community of Pomona Valley thanked Verizon and Gary George for their many years of support of the community and said the grant will help support their education program, helping newcomers as well as students to be better citizens. Additionally, the grant will support the growth and development of community.

Verizon also announced $500,000.00 in grants that will go to other Pomona area nonprofit and education institutions. According to Tim McCallion – President, West Region, the grant will support Verizon's principal areas of focus which are literacy, domestic violence prevention and technology access. Verizon is fully committed to supporting organizations that are making advances in these important areas.
