J. Henry (Hank) Ambrose

J. Hank Ambrose, Vice President, State Public Policy for Verizon, Washington, DC has responsibility for advocacy and implementation of strategic regulatory initiatives.
Hank has over 30 years experience in telecommunications with AT&T, Bell of Pennsylvania, Bell Atlantic and Verizon Washington, DC. He began his career with AT&T in New York as a staff specialist in the Business Research Division. He has held various assignments of increasing responsibility in business research and state and federal regulatory.
Prior to his current assignment, Hank was a loaned executive to the National Industry council for Science Education, where as executive director, he developed corporate memberships, planned executive board and annual meetings and coordinated activities of working groups.
Hank is on the Board of Advisors for The George Washington University School of Business and the Advisory Board for the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. He is a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Chair of the Budget Ministry for Oak Grove Baptist Church. He is a Returned Peace Corps volunteer, with service as a lecturer in mathematics at Kenyatta College, Nairobi, Kenya. He is a former lecturer at Temple University and former adjunct professor at Strayer University.
Hank began his undergraduate education at Emory University. He holds a B.S. in mathematics from the State University of New York, College at Brockport, and M.S. in mathematical sciences (statistics) from the University of Cincinnati, and an M.B.A. from The George Washington University, School of Business where he completed the inaugural Executive MBA Program.
He is married and has three sons.
