Verizon VolunteersVerizon Volunteers is one of the largest corporate employee volunteer programs in the United States. This valuable program encourages Verizon employees to give back to their communities by donating both time and money, and it provides matching gifts and foundation grants to the various nonprofit organizations our employees support.

In 2009, they personally donated over $200,000 dollars to nonprofit organizations based in DC.  The Verizon Foundation donated $8.7 million to local charities serving the District.

Aiton Elementary School Community Reading - Verizon employees have been part of this initiative for over a decade! Volunteers assist in the distribution of books and read to students in an effort to foster a love of reading and eradicate illiteracy.

Helping residents understand and take advantage of utility discountsJoint Utility Discount Day

For over a decade, hundreds of Verizon employees have come together to assist thousands of D.C. residents with completing applications to qualify for utility discounts.


School Beautification DayServathon 

Every year, Verizon employees join thousands of other volunteers around the region and help make our community a great place for all who live here!  Last year, about 7,000 volunteers worked on more than 100 community improvement projects across the metropolitan area.
