Verizon Volunteers is one of the largest corporate employee volunteer programs in the United States. This valuable program encourages Verizon employees to give back to their communities by donating both time and money, and it provides matching gifts and foundation grants to the various nonprofit organizations our employees support.

In 2006, they personally donated $1.9 million dollars to nonprofit organizations based in DC.  The Verizon Foundation matched the donations made by the employees for a total donation of $4.3 million dollars.

Joint Utility Discount Day

For over a decade, hundreds of Verizon employees have come together to assist thousands of D.C. residents with completing applications to qualify for utility discounts.

Servathon 

Every year, Verizon employees join thousands of other volunteers around the region and help make our community a great place for all who live here!  This is a hands-on activity that provides local nonprofits with over 11,000 hours of volunteer service!

Covenant House Thanksgiving Day

In 2006, over 30 Verizon employees assisted in serving Thanksgiving dinner to DC youth, ensuring that these valued residents along with their families have an opportunity to connect with one another during the season.
