Bonnie L. Metz joined Verizon Delaware as Vice President -- State Affairs in December of 2001. She oversees all legislative matters and contacts with state and federal regulatory agencies, as well as community relations initiatives.
Ms. Metz came to Verizon after an 11-year career as an attorney with two Wilmington law firms, where she specialized in administrative and telecommunications law. From March 2000 to December 2001, she was a partner with Klett, Rooney, Lieber & Schorling, where she represented Verizon Delaware in regulatory matters before the Public Service Commission and in state and federal courts. Previously, Ms. Metz was a partner with Duane Morris & Heckscher, where her practice focused on general administrative law and telecommunications regulation.
Ms. Metz is active in Delaware civic and professional organizations and is the recipient of the 2001 Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Award for her work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, Wilmington Charter School, LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the United States Human Rights Project. She also serves on the board of visitors of Delaware State University and the executive committee of the Delaware State Bar Association.
A magna cum laude graduate of The King's College, Ms. Metz holds a law degree from Villanova University.
Ms. Metz and her husband reside in Wilmington.
