Nonprofit groups in Delaware received more than $736,000 from the Verizon Foundation in 2010. The majority of the funds went to organizations that support education, domestic violence prevention and Internet safety. In addition, Verizon employees volunteered more than 3,200 hours to nonprofit groups throughout the state in 2010. Read the press release.

"The Cat in the Hat" Shares a Love of Reading with Wilmington Students
In celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday in March, Ted Hendrixson, an employee in Verizon's Business Solutions Group, brought "The Cat in the Hat" to life for students in Pre-K through 1st grade classes at Wilmington's Immaculate Heart of Mary School.
