The MIT Verizon Meetup
The Verizon FiOS team joined up with the MIT Enterprise Forum to test the full potential of completely connected homes powered with 100+mpbs downloads at the recent Digital Home Innovation Boston-Cambridge Meet-up. More than 160 entrepreneurs, developers, investors and other professionals converged at the Cambridge Innovation Center for this ecosystem event. Technology leaders from companies such as Cisco, Harvard Business School, Nokia, Harmonix, Sonos and the MIT Sloan School were also in attendance.
Attendees saw live demonstrations and learned how several start-up companies are building new products and services optimized for today’s high-speed IP-connected home. Demonstrations and informational sessions were presented by Sookbox, Q Factor Communications, Tomorrowish, ZoomTiltand Brass Monkey– all of whom are constantly redefining the standards for the connected home experience. Community Spotlight: Assabet Valley High School - Marlborough, MA
Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School is one of 12 schools across the nation designated as Verizon Innovative Learning Schools. The Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program is designed to help teachers utilize technology and integrate mobile devices, such as smart phones and tablets, into classroom instruction to enhance student learning and achievement in STEM subjects. The International Society for Technology in Education and the Verizon Foundation have been working to design and deliver a comprehensive, year-long professional development program for teachers and administrators.
