Verizon FiOS (FYE'-ose) is the new suite of fiber-optic services over FTTP, an advanced fiber-optic technology that can be used to connect a home or business directly to Verizon's network. Fiber-optic systems use strands of glass fiber and laser-generated pulses of light to transmit voice, data and video signals at speeds and capacities far exceeding today's systems. This new network will have greater reliability and lower maintenance costs. By deploying fiber to homes and businesses in our territory, Verizon is reinventing its wireline business.

Verizon FiOS TV

Many New Yorkers now have a new choice for video entertainment - Verizon FiOS TV. FiOS TV delivers stunning picture and sound quality, more HD and video-on-demand (VOD) choices, a broad spectrum of content diversity, and interactive features that create the ultimate home entertainment experience.

FiOS TV offers 100 HD channels in New York - giving customers more HD than Time Warner or Cablevision - with more to come!

And FiOS TV's VOD library offers titles that encompass a broad range of interests, including kids, music, pop culture, Spanish language, and home and leisure.  The library offers more than 11,000 titles per month - 8,500 are free of charge.  Customers can access video on demand simply by pressing the "VOD" or "On Demand" button on their remote control, by using the menu on FiOS TV's interactive media guide, or by selecting the VOD channel.
