Our goal is to enhance student achievement by supporting strategic grassroots efforts that target improvements in reading and technology literacy and produce measurable results.

Read Across America is the largest celebration of reading in the United States. The observance, which also honors the March 2 birthday of Dr. Seuss, is sponsored by the National Education Association. http://www.nea.org/readacross/

Literacy Council of Northern Virginia, Arlington – to fund a family literacy event that encourages reading by bringing books to life for local immigrant and at-risk families. This free event attracts families who have an interest in educational activities, but may not be aware of what is available. www.lcnv.org
City of Richmond Public Library Foundation, Richmond – to support the “Verizon Summer Reading Program.” This literacy program focuses on reading as an enjoyable leisure time activity. Children are encouraged to read during the summer months to keep them from losing ground on reading skills over summer vacation. http://www.richmondpubliclibrary.org/
Literacy Volunteers of Prince William County, Woodbridge – to support programs, tutors and volunteers that encourage and enhance literacy for adults and that help them achieve literacy goals. www.lvapw.org
