As Verizon develops new products and services, deploys new technologies and develops new uses of information, we review and update our privacy policy to reflect these changes. In addition, from time to time we make organizational, stylistic and grammatical changes to present our practices in a way that makes our policy easy to read. The information provided below highlights changes to our Privacy Policy that have been made in the past six months. If you have any questions or comments about our Policy, we invite you to contact the Verizon privacy office at privacyoffice@verizon.com. March 2013 Privacy Policy Update In the section entitled, "Information Provided To or Used by Third Party Advertising Entities," we describe a modification to the Verizon relevant online advertising program which allows Verizon and other marketers to better reach Verizon online customers. In this program, Verizon uses your postal address, information about your Verizon products and services, and demographic and interest information provided by others to determine whether you fit into an audience an advertiser is trying to reach. (Prior to this update, the Verizon online portion of this program used only postal address.) Verizon does not share any information that identifies you personally with advertisers as part of this program and customers may choose not to participate. ******************************************** October 2012 Privacy Policy Updates Addition of Redbox Instant by VerizonThe privacy policy was expanded so that the Verizon family of companies covered by the policy now includes the new Redbox Instant by Verizon joint venture. A new section was added to let Redbox Instant by Verizon customers know that when you subscribe to or use these services, information will be shared with both Redbox and Verizon. In addition, we include video streaming and video packages and usage as well as movie rental and purchase data in the list of information collected when you use Verizon products and services. The policy also describes how you may opt-out of Redbox Instant by Verizon marketing emails or texts and how you may update your Redbox Instant by Verizon account information. Additional Detail About Information Collected from CustomersIn the “Information You Provide” section of the policy, we clarify that information collected when you enter a Verizon-sponsored or affiliated contest, sweepstakes or similar promotion might be released as part of the program’s administration - for example, when the list of winners is published or for prize fulfillment. ******************************************** Updated March 2013 |
