September 2011 Privacy Policy Updates

As Verizon develops new products and services, deploys new technologies and develops new uses of information, we review and update our privacy policy to reflect these changes. In addition, from time to time we make organizational, stylistic and grammatical changes to present our practices in a way that makes our policy easy to read. The information provided below highlights changes we made in this version of our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions or comments about our Policy, we invite you to contact the Verizon privacy office at privacyoffice@verizon.com.

Changes Regarding How We Use and Share Information
In the Section entitled, "Information We Collect and How We Use It," we include more detail about the information we obtain when you communicate with us, use our products and services, and visit our websites. We also provide more information about how we personalize your experience on our websites, use cookies and other information on our sites, and collect information when you open Verizon emails or click on links contained within emails we send.

We include additional descriptions about the marketing and lead generation information we obtain from third parties and our use of the About Ads icon in Verizon advertisements that are delivered on other sites using information collected on our sites.

You will find current versions of the Verizon Wireline and Wireless Customer Proprietary Network Information ("CPNI") notices by following links in the section entitled, "Information Shared Within the Verizon Family of Companies." These notices simply replace outdated notices.

In the reorganized section entitled, "Information Provided To or Used by Third Party Advertising Entities," we provide more detail regarding information we may provide to third parties or that we allow them to collect via cookies on our sites. Here we describe new Verizon programs where information may be provided to third party advertising entities to enable them to better reach their intended audiences. Under these programs, we will not share outside of Verizon any information that identifies you personally. We also provide information about how you may choose not to participate in these programs. Here again, we describe the use of the About Ads icon, which provides information about online behavioral advertising practices, as well as information about how you may opt-out of these practices.

Additional Information for Wireless Customers
In the "Additional Information for Wireless Customers" section, we provide new descriptions about the collection and use of mobile device location data. We also provide information about Verizon's use of information described in this section to create aggregated business and marketing reports. Under this new program, we will not share outside of Verizon any information that identifies you personally. We may use business and marketing reports for our own purposes or share them with others. We also provide information about how you may choose not to participate in this program.

Choices
The section of the policy entitled "How to Limit the Sharing and Use of Your Information" consolidates in one section all the instructions regarding how you may limit sharing and use of your information.

More Resources
We added a description and link to Verizon's Parental Control Center, which provides free resources to parents about keeping kids safer online. We also provide links to additional Internet safety resources.
